Botox & fillers

BOTOX injections are now one of the most popular cosmetic treatments in the world and there are a plethora of celebs who are rumored as swearing by youth-keeping injections.

What are lip fillers, exactly? Let’s start with what they’re not: permanent. They last only about three months to a year. The kinds the derms recommend are made of hyaluronic acid — a sugar (found naturally in the body) that adds temporary volume and definition when injected into lips.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is BOTOX?

BOTOX is an FDA approved, temporary solution to fine lines and wrinkles, great for both women and men. BOTOX can be used all around your face including by the eyes, mouth and chin. The most common areas treated are crows feet and frown lines. It temporarily relaxes your facial muscles, leading to smoother, softer wrinkles. BOTOX is also a great treatment for hyperhidrosis, also known as excessive sweating. When applied to your under arms, sweating is greatly reduced. Say goodbye to antiperspirant!

BOTOX temporarily blocks your nerves from sending signals to your muscles, preventing them from contracting. This relaxing effect on the muscles softens your muscle tone, smoothing out fine lines and wrinkles.

YES! BOTOX temporarily blocks your nerves from sending signals that make you sweat. This is a great, temporary solution to stop excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) from your under arms.

After discussing your medical history with our PA, he will decide if BOTOX is right for you. The treatment only takes a few minutes and is all done in a private room at the AZ Brow Doctor studio. After identifying which muscles to target, our PA will insert a fine needle to inject the BOTOX. Most patients only experience a small amount of discomfort. After the treatment, it takes 7-14 days for BOTOX to fully take effect.

BOTOX lasts 3-6 months, after which the effects slowly fade. Even after BOTOX wears off, wrinkles and fine lines can appear smoother and less prominent due to the muscles slightly shrinking.

The most common side effect from BOTOX is temporary bruising at the injection site. To prevent bruising, stop all aspirin and NSAIDs two weeks before the procedure (with your doctor’s approval). Some patients experience temporary dizziness and muscle weakness. A small portion of patients may experience a headache which can last 24 to 48 hours after the treatment. Eyelid drooping is another rare side effect, and usually happens when BOTOX moves from the injection site. To prevent this, don’t rub treated skin for 12 hours.

Anyone looking to soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles should consider BOTOX, as it is one of the best treatments available for this. BOTOX is also an excellent treatment for anyone looking to reduce sweating.

If you are pregnant, breastfeeding or have a neurological disorder, we recommend not getting BOTOX.
